A quick introduction:
Metro-West Greenway(MWG) is a 28- mile public footpath that stretches the length of over four townships in the Northwestern suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts.
This predominantly un-improved path connects the Weston Aqueduct trail system on Loring Street in Weston with Thanksgiving Forest trails on Janet Street in Chelmsford, MA. Traveling through over a dozen conservation lots in Weston, Lincoln, Concord & Carlisle, MWG presents a unique opportunity to explore the wildlife & history of the area.
The trail follows Great Brook Farm to the Davis Corridor & Estabrook Woods in Carlisle; Minuteman NHP & Comeau lands throught Concord; Tanners' Brook, Sandy Pond & Bergen Lands through Lincoln & Ogilvie, Jericho, Nolte, Highland St, Ashland St/Weston Aqueduct lands in Weston.
The idea to link the existing lands into a path was born in the Summer of 2012 & the first known running of the trail did not take place until a year later.
Though no one usable map of the trail is currently available, one can link the route using data from MAPC's Trailmap, OSM & local trail commissions's sites(see Links).
